My Story
I studied Ceramics and Glass at Middlesex Polytechnic in the mid 1980s, completing my sandwich year at Goddard and Gibbs Stained Glass Studio in London. After graduation, I moved into studio space at the Southbank Crafts Centre in London and exhibited mixed media ceramic and leaded glass pieces at various galleries across the UK. In 1992 an IRA bomb forced the closure of the South Bank Craft Centre and I moved to studio space in North London and established Glazed Expressions doing residential commissions and restorations alongside exhibiting my work. I'm now in South Lincolnshire, offering classes and workshops in my own studio but also teach at other locations, such as Ely Cathedral.
I enjoy working with glass in all its forms, stained, fused and mosaic. It has a unique quality to show colour and texture whilst allowing light to shine through. Having been lucky enough to work with glass for over 20 years, its a pleasure to share my passion with students of all ages and abilities.

We offer a range of workshops, from short taster sessions to full day workshops. We can even offer a bespoke workshop if you have a group of friends who would like to come along together. All classes take place in the workshop behind my house in Thurlby. We provide all the necessary tools, equipment and the training for people of all levels of ability to succeed.
Reviews
I rarely write reviews for anything, but I am going to make an exception for Claire’s introduction to stained glass that I did recently. I have been doing glass fusing for about 5 years but avoid cutting and I worried about this aspect before the workshop. Her teaching is so clear and accessible that I was cutting like a demon straight away. I used to make sure the glass was always precut for me. I am still buzzing from the event and really delighted by my finished piece. I had a ball! Thank you so much, Claire! KR
